4xGuard's Rear Sliders have been long in the making, yet now that they're here we wonder how we ever lived without them! The rear corners are arguably the most vulnerable areas of either the Grand Cherokee and Commander, something we've experienced balancing across the notorious Golden Crack near Moab or traversing deep and steep ravines. The Rear Slider tucks under the rear fascia, providing an extremely heavy-duty sliding surface—with steel as much as 1-inch thick—to run down the rocks while also reaching toward the corner to provide all-around rear fascia protection that is unmatched outside of replacing the entire rear end with heavy and costly steel components. Even better, our Rear Sliders have integrated mounting
points for D-ring shackles, as well as a notch that can be used in
conjunction with a Hi-Lift-type jack to raise a rear corner of the
vehicle in trail emergencies. They've also been designed to work
hand-in-hand with the redesigned Rear Guard 2, for even
greater all-around protection.
